negotiated agreement

Collective bargaining with the Board of Education is AEL's single, most important activity on behalf of Unit 2 employees.

It is this process that determines the framework governing Unit 2 salaries, wages and working conditions.

The term "negotiations" implies a process conducted in a climate of mutual respect and carried out on the basis of flexibility and priorities demanded in equal measure of both parties. With the commitment and support of the Board of Education and Superintendent, Unit 2 employees have achieved unprecedented inroads toward fairness and equity with comparable, competing school systems. Some key issues are much closer than has been historically true to reaching levels of equity or competitiveness with comparable, competing school systems.
